Full-arch prostheses can be made using different frameworks and veneering materials. Terms vary between laboratories and clinics, so ask exactly what the temporary and definitive restorations are made from rather than relying on a brand-style package name.
Zirconia full-arch bridges
Zirconia is a ceramic material used for definitive implant restorations. It can provide a highly polished, tooth-like surface and good wear resistance. Design, thickness, connector dimensions, implant positions and opposing dentition all matter. If a zirconia prosthesis chips or fractures, repair strategy can differ from a resin-based prosthesis.
Acrylic, PMMA and composite-based designs
Resin-based teeth and gums may be used on provisional or definitive frameworks depending on the system. These materials can be easier to adjust or repair in some situations, but they can also wear or stain differently over time. Ask whether the bridge has a metal or titanium framework and how replacement teeth are serviced.
Temporary is not the same as final
A same-day provisional bridge is usually designed around the healing phase. The final bridge may use different materials, contours and occlusion once implant integration and tissue healing are confirmed. Make sure your quote identifies both.
Repairs, polish and maintenance
No restorative material is maintenance-free. Your dental team should explain expected professional cleaning, screw or component checks, polishing, wear monitoring and what can be repaired locally versus sent to a laboratory.
